The short version: Your photos stay on your device. We don't collect, upload, or sell your data. We don't even have a server to put it on.
What the app does
Aww… That Face is a daily pet photo app for iOS. You take one photo of your pet each day, and the app stores it on your device. That's the core of what it does.
Photos & data storage
All photos you take or import in the app are stored locally on your iPhone. They are not uploaded to any server, cloud service, or third party. We do not have access to your photos.
App data — including your streak, settings, and pet profile — is stored on your device using Apple's built-in storage frameworks (SwiftData and UserDefaults). This data is not transmitted anywhere.
No account required
You do not need to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in to use the app. There is no login, no registration, and no user tracking.
Notifications
The app may ask permission to send you daily photo reminders via local push notifications. These notifications are generated entirely on your device — they are not sent from a server. You can disable them at any time in your iPhone's Settings.
Camera & photo library
The app requests access to your camera to take daily photos, and optionally your photo library to import existing photos. These permissions are requested through Apple's standard permission dialogs. You can revoke them at any time in Settings → Privacy → Camera / Photos.
Analytics & tracking
We do not use any analytics SDKs, tracking pixels, advertising identifiers, or third-party data collection tools. We don't know who you are, how often you use the app, or what photos you take.
Future features
In the future, the app may offer optional paid features such as photo book printing, video exports, and cloud backup. If and when those features are introduced, they will require you to opt in explicitly, and this privacy policy will be updated to reflect any data handling involved. We will never retroactively change how your existing data is handled without your consent.
Third-party services
At launch, the app uses no third-party services. No data leaves your device. If future updates introduce services like payment processing (Stripe) or print fulfillment (Gelato), only the minimum data required to complete your order (shipping address, payment info) will be shared with those providers, and only when you explicitly place an order.
Children's privacy
The app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
If we update this policy, we'll change the "last updated" date at the top. For significant changes, we'll also post a notice in the app.
